Kukar Pind (Jalandhar), July 21, 2015- It was quite hot evening when newly formed Gobind Sports Academy took a huge step to take the kids to new level. It was the occasion of starting of 1ST JUNIOR KUKAR PIND HOCKEY LEAGUE 2015.  “It was long conceived idea but realized finally today,  said  Chaman Chahal , a retired office who is investing his time for the well-being of not only Kukar pind’s village but of adjacent villages too. He further added “with the help of our Panchayat, village residents and above all our village residents living abroad especially  in Canada are behind this mission of establishing academy and league” Reikhy brothers Raj and Vijay, Paramjit Singh are devoting their valuable time on academy’s success.

“We want to bring out the kids from their home comfort, and provide them sports education on and off the field, trying to catch them young and put them on positive path of society” adds S. Paramjit Singh.

GSA hired the services of an expert coach, providing training classes five days a week. Kukar Pind has the attendance of about a century of kids who showing up every evening in various sports but, GSA,   in its initial stage, just concentrating on about fifty kids of Hockey only. To expand their horizons today they get another feather in the cap by starting Junior hockey league (under 14). Twelve teams from nearby villages and schools are participating in this league. It’s the same system as we witness in western countries of organizing leagues, they play every weekend a game and can train whole week, in nutshell kids will keep themselves busy for about eight weeks, which has quite contrary positive results as compare to three days long usual tournaments plus  this concept is economical viable
