With the overwhelming response, PPC is organized ahead of the targeted time
Surrey, BC –- Peoples Party of Canada was launched on September 14, 2018 by its Leader Maxime Bernier; many critics said the party will never be able set up its grassroots organizations across Canada that fast since the federal election is less than a year away. Mr. Bernier is well on it way to field candidates in all 338 Electoral Districts in Canada. Founding of 338 Electoral District Associations is a precursor to the nomination process of candidates in the upcoming election. 278 EDAs are already founded in Canada in the short period of less than three months. The People’s Party of Canada now has over 33,000 members, 14% of those members are from BC.
“Today with the founding of the three EDAs in Surrey, it completes British Columbia with very active and functional EDAs”, continued Shannon Kewley the PPC Provincial Organizer for BC, “we’ve received overwhelming response all across the Province. Indeed, we’re very proud of the teams of volunteers and members for their tremendous support. The Party is growing every day.”
The last three EDAs remain to be founded today were Fleetwood—Port Kells, Surrey—Newton and Surrey—Center. The elected Executive Members of EDAs are community activists and many concerned citizens, including frustrated former executive members of the Conservative Party of Canada, and other political parties.
“With the completion of founding of all the EDAs, we have successfully completed the first step towards competing in the next election. We are also moving forward with the election readiness for both the by-elections in Burnaby—South and Nanaimo—Ladysmith. We’re very thankful and encouraged with the enthusiastic response from the grassroots members and strong teams of volunteers, said Gurmant Grewal, Co-Chair of PPC Campaign.
Recently, Party organizers in BC hosted the leader Maxime Bernier in Vancouver, to a full room of excited crowd, like that of rallies in Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon Toronto, Ottawa, Gatineau, Quebec City among others. Some members have joined with homemade signs, buttons, T-shirts and other campaign materials. The volunteers are wasting no time in talking to their colleagues, friends, neighbors and doing door knocking in their EDAs. It is more of a political movement than just a new political party.
